Have you recently or not so recently lost someone? Our groups offer support and companionship as you travel the roads of grief. Sometimes it helps just to be able to say your loved one’s name and tell their/your story. We understand that each person’s grief is their own. Sometimes it seems difficult to find people who are willing to listen to our grieving in a comforting way, without judgment. Groups or individual grief coaching offer extra support.
We also offer Grief Decluttering, to help in releasing your loved one’s things they left behind. The people who have been most successful in getting through this trying part of the journey are those who have someone --a friend, a relative, a neighbor-- to help in making decisions as all the beautiful and sad memories arise as you go through what your loved ones left behind. A grief coach or a grief support/decluttering group can also help in this process.
Hi, I'm Cheryn, founder of healinglifeafterloss.com. Having lost my mother eight years ago, I have had my own grief journey. So, I know personally that you don’t “get over” losing someone. After eight years, I have regained my balance, but it took me almost five years to get to that point. And sometimes, what I call “sneaker waves of grief” will just wash over me out of nowhere.
I actively listen to you, in either individual or group sessions. In the groups, other people who have lost their loved ones will also share with you and with each other and offer support and comfort. Just know that I have walked through the wilderness of grief with those who companioned me, and now want to companion you as you travel through your own wilderness.
I am a certified Grief Educator (certified by David Kessler); a certified End-of-Life Specialist (certified by a local hospice); and have been trained as a Grief Support Facilitator at a local hospice and have facilitated grief support groups since 2018. Additionally, I have an M.S. in Psychology. To learn more or schedule a session, please reach out directly at (805) 637-6802 or via email at [email protected].
